When the days are getting shorter and the first snow falls, it's getting quiet in Schwangau. The hustle and bustle of the summer season has settled and the village comes to rest. The calm time is approaching, the houses are discreetly decorated with lights and candles, Advent calls for reviving and traditions are lovingly respected.

With the Alpine Advent singing in the church of Waltenhofen you can tune-in to the celebrations of the birth of Christ.

The Christmas Mass is part of the annual cycle for locals as well as guests. The sounds of "Silent Night", as well as the inflamed lights on the graves on Christmas Eve, are part of an honest and perceived contemplation.

During the Christmas season one can enjoy a beautiful, quiet walk or a sleigh ride in Schwangau, which is certainly an unforgettable experience. The daily deer feeding sessions with about 200 red deer, bring nature and the responsibility towards our environment one step closer.

Regular events in winter - Schwangau

On the Saturday before the first weekend of Advent, voices of the parish Church in Schwangau-Waltenhofen, the folk musicians of "Alpenländische Adventsingers", brings the visitors with contemplative and folklore music in a festive season.

Schwangauer hosts pamper the guests on the first Sunday in December in Mitteldorf

with all kinds of delicacies. It is a small and fine culinary Christmas market. The scent of mulled wine, scraps of ox or smoked fish one can hardly resist. Santa Claus is coming on the carriage by nightfall and brings some small gifts for the children.

As from 25th December, a daily red deer feeding takes place close to the "Bannwaldsee". Up to 200 animals are coming to the feeding. The kings of the forest can be seen from close range - a highlight.
